How to play Brick Breaker

Take a moment with Brick Breaker before moving to another game. Clear all forty-five bricks before losing three balls. Check the relevant rule before repeating a move. Choose a comfortable screen position before beginning. Use the example below to understand a decision.

Single 45-brick layout, three balls.

A careful first round

Before your first action, say what you are trying to achieve. Then compare the result with the goal. Keep the objective visible.

Your goal

Clear all forty-five bricks before losing three balls. Use the instructions to see which actions move you towards it. Keep the controls in easy reach.

Step by step

  1. Start the ball.
  2. Move the paddle to intercept it.
  3. Paddle contact changes the outgoing angle.
  4. Restart a remaining ball after a loss.

Controls

Pointer, arrow keys or held Left/Right. Start / pause and New round are available. On a smaller screen, keep the active part of the board within view. Make sure you are interacting with the game rather than the surrounding page.

A useful example

An edge hit sends the ball at a different angle. Apply the same reasoning to the position in your own round. Keep the game’s format in mind.

Watch out for this

Track its landing point, not only its current x-coordinate. Take a moment to reassess the position before continuing. Watch the feedback after an action. A message can explain whether the input was accepted or whether a rule needs attention.
