How to play Pinball

Open Pinball, check the instructions and begin a round. Reach 1,500 points before three balls drain. Use the example below to understand a decision. Keep the instructions close while learning this activity. Look at what changes after your first action.

Original compact two-flipper table with three bumpers.

Review a difficult moment

When a decision goes wrong, compare it with the common mistake described below. Start again only when you intend to leave the current round. Keep the objective visible.

Your goal

Reach 1,500 points before three balls drain. Read that aim before choosing your first action. Return to the instructions when a step is unclear.

Step by step

  1. Start to launch.
  2. Use the two flippers.
  3. Bumper collisions score.
  4. Launch remaining balls after a drain.

Controls

Hold Left/Right flipper or arrow keys. Start / pause and New round are available. On a smaller screen, keep the active part of the board within view. Look at the feedback after the action.

A useful example

Activate the flipper when the ball reaches its active surface. Use the example as a guide rather than a substitute for reading your board. Take a moment to compare.

Watch out for this

A drained ball cannot be rescued. A different version of the game may use a different rule. Choose one rule to keep in mind for this round. Apply it consistently rather than guessing what another version might allow.
